Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe

EGGLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE

♡ INGREDIENTS ♡

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup maida
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda

♡ RECIPE ♡

 1. In a large bowl, add 1/3 cup of water and 1/4 cup oil. Now add 3/4 cup powdered sugar and mix well until no lumps are present.

2. Now in a separate bowl, seive in 1 cup of maida and 3 tbsp of cocoa powder. Also add baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt.

 3. Now add this mix slowly into the wet ingredients giving it an occasional stir.
♧Note: Mix all the dry ingredients first before adding to the wet ones so that we can have a uniform mix and be sure of a lump less mix.

4. Add in 1 tsp of vanilla essence. Mix well. (Make sure not to overmix or become overexcited.. :) it can lead to great disappointments.)

5. Now line a baking mould with oil and maida. Add in your prepared cake mix. Tap it on the platform in order to avoid the air bubbles.
(I would suggest using a smaller baking tray or mould if available because amount of mixture is less)

6. Bake it in a preheated oven (15min) at 180°C for 30-40 min. Check with a toothpick to make sure it's done. Let it cool and only then separate it from the mould.
(This cake is very soft and might break very easily so be careful not to use all your might on this fragile cake. )

♡ Serve as  dessert :) Top it off with vanilla icecream/chocolate ganache for bringing this cake to another dimension.

♡ Enjoy with friends and family. ♡

After that my friend told me that it was one of the famous things made in Mangalore and that it was called 'Mangalore bun.' Few days back I was thinking about what to make for munching in the evening using the limited ingredients that we had. And that's when I stumbled across this very simple recipe of Mangalore buns.
