Chicken Momo Recipe

CHICKEN MOMOS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

Makes around 13 momos

☆ For the covering of momos☆

• 1 cup maida
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 tbsp salt

☆ For momos stuffing ☆

•  300 g chicken
• 1 medium sized onion
• 1/4 cup spring onion
• 1/2 cup coriander leaves
•  2 tsp garlic paste
•  2 tsp soya sauce
•  1 tbsp vinegar
•   1 tsp pepper
• Salt as per taste

♡INSTRUCTIONS♡

1. In a large bowl, take 300 g minced chicken. In order to get a proper texture for the momos, grind it in a blender.

2. Now into the bowl with chicken, add spring onion, 1 onion, coriander, garlic paste, salt, pepper, soya sauce and vinegar and mix well. The stuffing for momo is now ready.

3. Take another bowl and add in 1 cup of maida or all purpose flour. Add in oil and water and make a dough.  It will use around 1/2 cup of water. The dough must be not too soft and not too hard. Rest the dough for 10 minutes before using.

4. Now make small balls from the dough in order to make momo covering. Using a rollin pin, roll it to a size of a puri. It must not be too thick. Make it almost transparent.
Keep the Idli steamer on the stove by now on a  very low flame so that the water inside would boil by the time you're done stuffing the momos

Tip: Keep the middle portion as in the bottom part of your momo a bit thick because it may break on steaming if too thin.

5. Now into your small puri, add in the stuffing and fold it from one side as if you're making pleats. Once you make around 7 pleats just join it to the other side and close it properly. This is an example of one of the many shapes momo has..you can make it in whatever shape you like.

Tip: Make sure you're closing it well or else it will break open from the top.

(I'm sorry here u can see only 4 because the remaining are in the Idli steamer xD)

6. Now once you've finished making all the momos, keep it immediately in the Idli steamer/momo maker. Do not forget to grease the Idli plates with sufficient oil or else the dough might stick to the bottom.

7. Keep the flame on low to medium for about 25 minutes.

8. Serve while hot with schezhwan sauce/momo chutney. Enjoy this delicacy with friends and family.

Mangalore bun/Banana bun recipe

The first time I ate these were in my hostel mess in Karnataka. They used to give us these buns along with chutney for snacks. My first thought was "Wow this puri is sweet!" After that my friend told me that it was one of the famous things made in Mangalore and that it was called 'Mangalore bun.' Few days back I was thinking about what to make for munching in the evening using the limited ingredients that we had. And that's when I stumbled across this very simple recipe of Mangalore buns. RECIPE FOR MANGALORE BUNS: * 1 ripe banana  * 1 ½ cup or more maida * ½ cup powdered sugar * ½ tsp Baking soda * 1 pinch of salt * 1 tsp ghee * 1 tsp jeera 1. In a large bowl, mash a ripe banana nicely. It must not have any pieces in it. Mash it properly with a fork. Or you can use a hand mixer if available. 2.
